Swimming - Burn Calories and Lose Weight

Exercise is very important for the overall health and fitness of a person. Sedentary habits make limbs dull, muscles inactive, promote obesity, lead to poor digestion and produce many other undesirable effects. Exercise is necessary not only for the overall health of a person but also for increased longevity.

There are so many exercises. Some exercises can be done in a gym while as others can be done in the open. There is usually a price for the use of a gym while as one need not to pay for some popular exercises in the open. These include walking, running, jumping, breathing and doing other exercises in a public park.

One very attractive and highly beneficial exercise is swimming. There are public swimming pools available in many places. Generally these have limited timings and are crowded. Therefore, one has to depend on private commercial swimming pools.

The benefit of commercial swimming pools is the quality of service, convenient hours of operation, less crowding and ease of use. Of course, these could be expensive.

One should seriously consider swimming as an attractive fitness exercise. It is not only an interesting sport but also complete in many respects. In swimming almost all the parts of a body get exercised.

Swimming involves hands and arms, legs, bum, head and neck, shoulders and overall body. One can go under water with deep breath and thus help exercise overall respiratory system. It builds endurance and muscles.

It is not that hard to learn swimming. If one does not know how to swim, it is easy to learn. Many clubs hold training classes and sessions for new members. One can learn after a few sessions of exercise. One can also learn on one's own. For this there are free guides available both online and off line.

If anyone is serious in burning calories, reducing weight, keeping one's belly in check, there can be no better exercise than swimming. Swimming for less than an hour is enough to change a person's health for better.
